National Tartar Sauce Day February 19, 2021 Falling on the first Friday following Lent – National Tartar Sauce Day calls on you to celebrate this simple condiment that adds a twang to your fish and seafood platters. The day owes it’s origin to the Frisch Family Big Boy of Cincinnati Ohio in 2017. Dave Frisch’s signature in-house made Tartar Sauce set the restaurant onto the scene when the Big Boy sandwich that normally used Thousand Island dressing was replaced with Tarter Sauce – make it a regular favorite of many and placing this condiment on the menu and eventually a staple in home cupboards as well.
