Calhoun Community College will host the 2018 Career & Workforce expo on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Aerospace Training Center and the Health Sciences building on Calhoun’s Decatur campus.

Truck drivers are in high demand, and the career is growing in popularity among women. In an effort to meet the demand, Calhoun Community College is conducting a special CDL training course geared toward women.
“Truck driving women are the face of the future, and as companies encounter a shortage of drivers, more women that possess a CDL is essential,” commented Mary Smith, CDL Instructor. “Calhoun’s Workforce Solutions (CWS) team decided what better time than now to provide the necessary training to help fill those industry gaps,” said Smith. Volunteers of all ages are invited to participate in this effort. “We hope to have a large number of volunteers this year as we have in the past,” said Lynne Hart, KALB Executive Coordinator. “KALB can’t accomplish anything worthwhile without volunteers.
