The basic ideas of National Hunting and Fishing Day continued under the guidance of President Theodore Roosevelt and came to full fruition with Senatorial Resolution in June 1971, Congressional Resolution in early 1972, and finally Presidential Proclamation under Richard Nixon in May 1972.
