National Tartar Sauce Day

Falling on the first Friday following Lent – National Tartar Sauce Day calls on you to celebrate this simple condiment that adds a twang to your fish and seafood platters. The day owes it’s origin to the Frisch Family Big Boy of Cincinnati Ohio in 2017. Dave Frisch’s signature in-house made Tartar Sauce set the restaurant onto the scene when the Big Boy sandwich that normally used Thousand Island dressing was replaced with Tarter Sauce – make it a regular favorite of many and placing this condiment on the menu and eventually a staple in home cupboards as well.

Topping off the Frisch’s Big Boy sandwiches isn’t the only unconventional use of the seafood compatriot. Tartar Sauce non-traditional applications including...

...dipping fries and battered foods, dipping for or spooned onsteamed vegetables, spiced up versions for tacos, wasabi adorned versions for Asian dishes, and even marinading chicken, seafood and beef
