Make It An Athens-Limestone Valentines

A Short Excursion Leads to Sweet Treats at Wise Ant General Store & Bakery

Feeling adventurous and looking for some sweets for your sweetie? Well, tucked in the rolling hills just north of Ardmore at a tiny intersection on the road is Bryson Tennessee. Some might know the area as one of two businesses nestled on the corners, Corner Pit BBQ, just two miles east of Interstate 65 Exit 6 was recently featured on a Tennessee Crossroads. For those that haven’t seen the show or ventured beyond the Shady Lawn Truck stop, you’ll be delighted by the other business – Wise Ant General Store and Bakery.

This family-run bakery and general store with an unusual name and...
... guiding faith to serve the community opened in October 2020. With shelves and fridges of local milks, mixes, seasonings, house-made granolas and more alongside local artisan-made gifts, the Wise Ant has become well known for its take and bake meals; its grab and go selection; its made before your eye deli goods; and especially its desserts.

Why not take the stress out of your Valentine’s meal and order a pre-made Take-and-Bake like Stuffed Peppers or Baked Spaghetti. You can choose from portions perfect for a couples night that feeds 2-4 or one that feeds the family 6-8. Check the cold case and pick up a salad or sides and don’t forget the fresh baked loaf of bread for your meal too.

Among the highly sought desserts of the Wise Ant are the Cinnamon Rolls topped with ooey-gooey frosting – which would make a great breakfast in bed for anyone on Valentine’s. Among the swirled topped selection of cupcakes – the Sundrop Cupcakes including Cherry Sundrop disappear as quickly as they went into the bakery display case. So if you have a Sundrop-loving sweetheart, pre-order this treat to guarantee smiles all around. The dumpcakes and cobblers also please the crowds among the many, many fresh baked items the Wise Ant prepares for the weekends.

The Wise Ant can help you with sweets for your sweet – just pre-order to guarantee yours. Cocoa Bombs decked in marshmallows, hearts and red sprinkles can warm up your evening. Don’t forget the Chocolate Covered Strawberries for your sweetheart and if you need the bouquet they can help with that too.

Ordering deadline is February 6, 2021 for pickup on February 13. One dozen Chocolate Strawberries is $24.99. You can place orders by calling 931-638-9473. The Wise Ant General Store & Bakery is located at 2886 Bryson Road in Ardmore Tennessee. It is opened Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00AM-5:00PM; Friday from 6:00AM-7:00PM and Saturday 7:00AM-7:00PM.
