Yesterday's Event Center Prepares to Celebrate 20 Years of EntertainmentAn update from Yesterday's Event Center's Director, Glenn Hall... From: Glenn Hall, Director Yesterdays Event Center Athens, Al Updates Sept 2017... --------------- In Nov 2017 we will celebrate our 20th year, our doors first opened Nov 7th, 1997, that first show was a sell out with standing room only. Our Tourism numbers for 2017 (number of guests attending from outside Athens/Limestone Co) have been determined using actual numbers Jan-Aug and numbers already pre-registered for Sep-Dec. That number will exceed ... ... 4,200 guests for 2017, again placing us in the top 5 Athens/Limestone events for the third year in a row for tourism numbers. Groups attend from as far away as Tallapoosa, Marshall, and Jefferson counties, as well as southern Tennessee.
3 of our 5 remaining monthly 2017 Senior Lunch Matinees are sold out, with the final 2 expected to sell out by Oct 10th. 13 out of 15 of those scheduled 2017 lunch shows sold out (255+ guests). Remaining 2017 Senior Lunch Matinee dates: Sep 21st (sold out) Oct 19th (sold out) Oct 20th (tentative) Nov 16th (seating available) Dec 14th Christmas Show (sold out) Dec 15th Christmas Show (seating available) Regional senior groups interested in attending for 2018 can contact us. All remaining 2017 Entertainment Sponsorship slots are filled, these are companies who offer senior related products and partner with us to help cover entertainment fees, which allows us to offer these events to our guests for the cost of the lunch only, with show free of charge to our attendees with paid lunch. Companies interested in this sponsorship program for 2018 can contact us. Our no-cost/no-hassle fundraiser program for our local school music programs resumes Jan 2018, interested school music programs can contact us. Our next Mike Chapman Memorial Music Scholarship will be presented May 2018, this is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and is open to outside contributions.
