Yee-Haw It's Rodeo Week in Limestone County!
Grab your cowboy hats, pull on your favorite boots, turn up your favorite country song, and get ready for the "Greatest Show on Dirt" as the Limestone County Sheriff's Rodeo brings the broncos, bulls, and fun to the Limestone Sheriff's Arena May 18th and 19th.
But the fun doesn't happen on those two days - it's a week-long celebration and an excuse to do a little boot scootin' and yee-hawing with the kids. May 12th is the official kickoff of the Limestone County Sheriff's Rodeo with the Grand Marshall's Parade -- with this year's honor bestowed upon ...
Paul Cain, newly retired from the Limestone County Sheriff's Office and the man who made many of the rodeos happen, as well as Paul's wife, Deborah .
The kids will enjoy pony rides and parents will enjoy the great deals on new rodeo duds during the Preston's Western Wear on Monday. Tuesday will be the day to show off your new outfit with the Street Dance and Fashion Show in downtown Athens at the Limestone County Courthouse. The rodeo's slack day, an extra day for competitions to narrow the competitors for Friday and Saturday's action, will be Thursday at the arena. The big nights with all the fun for the family will be Friday and Saturday with rodeo clowns, chuck wagon races, bouncing broncos, tight turning barrel horses, and mighty and mean bulls challenging the cowboys and cowgirls.
