Preparing to Celebrate Alabama’s Bicentennial
... of Chorale Director John Malone, will sing the National Anthem. Guest speaker Alabama State Representative Mike Ball, member of the Alabama Bicentennial Commission, will give a presentation on Alabama’s Bicentennial Celebration. During his program, he will present an Alabama flag to Boy Scout Troop 240.
Following Rep. Ball’s portion of the program, refreshments will be served in the dining room of the historic 1845 Donnell House. ### About the Historic Donnell House The Donnell house was completed in 1851 for Rev. Robert Donnell, founder, Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Later, it was the home for principals of North Alabama Agricultural School, Athens High and Middle Schools.
