...a lack of understanding about their disease. In order to help them, he created the COPD Blues, combining COPD education and music, providing an enjoyable and information-packed experience for his listeners.

Feb. 23, Jean will bring his COPD Blues to the Athens-Limestone County Public Library. COPD patients and their families are invited to come learn about COPD by listening to the music and having their questions answered afterward. This is a free program that will start at 1 p.m. 

“Do you have shortness of breath? Do you get tired doing normal  activities? Don’t ignore these symptoms, thinking that they are a part of aging,” warns Al Jean. “Come to the Athens-Limestone County Public  Library to see and hear COPD Blues.”

Al Jean has been playing music for more than 50 years. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Respiratory Therapy Program and National-Louis University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Allied Health. In addition to performing, Jean will have CDs on sale at the library.
