Calhoun: PR Wins Awards

The Calhoun Community College PR Department wins ‘2019 Best in Show’ at Statewide Awards Competition

​The Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA) recognized Calhoun’s Public Relations team for their creative marketing efforts during its annual Pyramid Awards Competition, which was held in Orange Beach, AL on September 4-6, 2019.

The competition recognizes creativity, branding and best practices in marketing and public relations among two-year community colleges across the state of Alabama. Over 260 entries were submitted among almost 20 colleges, and Calhoun received a total of 17 awards, as well as being named...

“I was extremely excited to hear that our PR team not only won 2019 Best in Show in the electronics submission category but that they also received 17 awards in various Pyramid Award categories,” commented interim President Dr. Joe Burke. “Those awards speak to their tireless efforts in keeping the college’s image up-to-date and fresh with innovative marketing,” added Burke.
​Calhoun Student, Janae Malone, was also recognized at the conference as one of the first-ever ACCSPRA Student Scholarship recipients.
