A Message from the organizers of the Blanche Freedom Festival 2020From the organizers of the Blanche Freedom Festival is in Blanche, Tennessee Via Facebook 2020! Need we say more. We want to let everyone know a quick update on the Freedom Festival this year. At the first of the year the committee met and decided not to move ahead with the event this year. Many factors weighed in on this decision but let me share just a couple. First, we just didn't feel a peace about putting it on this year in our hearts. Several of our originators have moved forward and we felt it may be time to just end it. Second, with the new school being built, several of the programs are working to raise money in the community to help fund a new playground for the kids as well as sport facility. These two things will not be provided in the building of the school so people are working real hard to raise the money and we didn't want to take away from this great movement. Now we are dealing with the Pandemic of Covid 19 and i'm sure glad we made the decision we did. It would be hard to ask... ... business to help support this event while they are struggling to even keep their own doors open. God had a reason for our fears of moving forward this year and now we believe it's clear.
So with all this, we would like to leave you with a few thoughts. Thank you to everyone that has made it possible for the Freedom Festival to happen in our community. Thanks to all the businesses and vendors that donated money and prizes and provided tents, chairs and so on. Thanks to our partners along the way that helped with sound, fireworks, inflatables, games, stage and bathrooms. Thanks to all the workers and volunteers over the years. So many long days of getting everything prepped and ready for the BIG day. Thanks to all those who helped provide entertainment over the years to everyone that came. Thanks to the Blanche Middle School, Blanche Booster Club, Blanche PTF, Blanche Band, Blanche Cheerleaders, Blanche Bible Club, and all other groups that helped over the years in many different aspects. Thanks to all those who personally donated and or gave items for the event to take place. Thanks to all the Churches that came together to make this possible in so many ways. Thanks to Al Cobb Farms and Blanche Grocery for helping out in so many different fashions. Thanks to Blanche Fire Dept for helping with first aid, bringing in the helicopter and other aspects. There are probably others we need to thank as well and if we missed you, we deeply apologize. You were so needed to make all this possible. But lastly, I'd like to thank everyone that supported the Freedom Festival by just coming. Some years we had over 1,500 people and some years over 5,000. You may have came one year or every year but we sure do appreciate you being there. Without you, it would have been pointless. Maybe we will be able to have something like this in the future for our community again and we hope that you will be a part of that as well. Feel free to leave comments below and or by tagging and thanking specific business, vendors, or people for all the fun times we had. God bless you all and God bless the Blanche Community and we pray you have a Happy and Safe 4th of July.
