CARPENTER & MAY COMING TO ATHENS STATEDateline: May 30, 2019, Athens, AL – Carpenter & May will be coming to Athens State University as part of the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Concert Series. The concert will be the third of a newly expanded five-part series that leads up to the 2019 Fiddlers Convention in October, allowing... ... bluegrass lovers to enjoy the sounds of old-time music throughout the year. The concert will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 7:00 pm in McCandless Hall. The duo, made up of Fred Carpenter and Tim May, perform a combination of genres, all rooted in the acoustic music tradition. They are fine vocalists, published songwriters, and have contributed their instrumental skills to Grammy nominated projects. Their repertoire features elements of bluegrass, swing, rock, blues, jazz, Celtic, and original material.
