Varieties of Religious Experience Series Scheduled ... 6:00 pm in McCandless Hall on the Athens State University campus. Speakers and professors will be coming from near and far to present individual lectures on subjects of their expertise. Information for the specific sessions is as follows: October 8, 2018: Varieties in Sacred Organ Music, a concert by Dr. Steven Wente, Professor of Music, Concordia University, Chicago. October 22, 2018: Escaping Earth: Human Spaceflight as Religion, a lecture by Dr. Roger D. Launius, Principle of Launius Historical Services and retired associate director of collections and curatorial affairs at the Smithsonian Institution. November 5, 2018: Exploring the Myths and Legends of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, a lecture by Dr. Ronald Fritze, Professor of History and Religion, Athens State University. November 26, 2018: Science vs the Bible?, a lecture by Dr. Aaron Kretzschmar, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Decatur. All events are free and open to the public.
