August 4 Bring Big Sound to Singing on the Square
Athens State University Community Band under the direction of Roy Adams will be closing out the Summer Concert Series of Singing on the Square on August 4th starting at...
...6:30PM under the stars. Marion Street on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse will be closed to traffic for Singing on the Square patrons to bring camp chairs to set up enjoy the hour-long show. Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association encourages everyone to come early and grab a meal at a restaurant or enjoy takeout while listening to concert. Dessert options like ice cream are also plentiful too for those wanting a sweet and cold treat during the show.
The ASU Community Band is all volunteer member performing group that has offered the community a variety of music from movie themes to Christmas classics. Director Roy Adams stepped into his role after former Director Ron Haverly stepped down. Roy Adams is a music and band instructor in the Athens City School System. The Summer Concert Series: Singing on the Square is hosted by the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association and is sponsored by Jimmy Smith Buick GMC. The series offers free concerts to public each year from June through August. Alternate weather location will be the Vietnam Veterans Building (17915 West Elm Street in Athens).
