Annual Arbor Day Festival ScheduledUPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Athens State University Arbor Day has been postponed until April 20th. AL – Athens State University will be hosting its annual Arbor Day Festival on Saturday, April 13 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm on Founders Hall Lawn. The festival will offer something fun for the whole family including inflatable attractions for kids, historic tree tours on Athens State’s campus, arts and crafts, face painting, and free food. Athens State is quickly approaching... ... its Bicentennial. Its campus is home to over 40 historic trees, and to honor the beauty and historic charm they lend to Athens State, the University has undertaken a Historic Tree Project. This project will help maintain and celebrate the campus’s historic living collection of trees and encourage the University community to carry its natural legacy into the future. Special thanks to The Alabama Bicentennial Commission Foundation for providing Athens State University a grant to use toward this project. The event is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, the festival will take place on Saturday, April 20. Athens State University300 North Beaty Street, Athens, AL
