2019 APD Motorcycle Ride Revs Up For Behind the Badge April 27
The sun will be out and a light breeze in the air as the motorcycles rev up for the 4th Annual Athens Police Department Motorcycle Ride this Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Athens benefiting Behind the Badge – a group comprised of spouses and supporters who raise money to support the men and women in blue in the field and their families at home.

... police escorts, great times and the open road. This year journey winds through scenic northern Limestone County Alabama and southern Giles County Tennessee before ending at The Red Caboose in downtown Elkmont.
The 2019 ride starts at the Athens Police Department on 951 East Hobbs Street this year with a breakfast for registrants at 7:30AM. Registration for each motorcycle rider and one passenger is $30.00 cash or check day of the event. Breakfast will be followed by kickstands up at 9:00AM with the ride ending in Elkmont by 11:00AM. For anyone wanting to watch the motorcycles pass, the route for the 2019 motorcycle ride include Elkton Road from Athens then turns east on Black Road then to Mooresville Road to travel north to 7th Street/Highway 53 just south of Ardmore before heading west on Old Scrooge Road then continuing north on Old Scrooge Road and crossing into Tennessee where it becomes Rolin Hollow Road. The ride will then turn northwest onto Pleasant Hill Road in Pleasant Hill Tennessee and pass through the rolling hills and farmland before turning southeast on Ragsdale Road to cross back into Alabama and continuing to Shipley Hollow Road to head west for a short dogleg onto Pettusville Road before heading west on Robinson Road to Veto Road where the ride will travel southward to Upper Fort Hampton Road to cross over the Richard Martin Rails to Trails and end in downtown Elkmont on Railroad Street. 2019 APD Motorcycle Ride Route
