Chick-fil-A 5K, 10K and Fun Run Return to Downtown Athens AL
... replace their aging 35-year Tubas and expand the section from five to seven. The anticipated cost is $11,000.00 per tuba (Sousaphone) and Chick-Fil-A Athens and East Limestone Band hopes to register 500 hundred participants to help the band students achieve their goal.
The Chick-Fil-A Athens Race brought 265 participating runners and walkers to downtown Athens last year. As of May 4th, the race organizers are reporting 452 registrants have signed up including students from the East Limestone March Band who will walk or run the races as well. That's almost a 41% increase in registered participants for this race -- and an amazing feat of nearly reaching the 500 participant goal. Online registration hasn't closed as of noon May 4th (itsyourrace.com) and day of registration opens before the race in downtown Athens in the early morning hours priors to the 7:00AM starting gun. The 10K race starts at 10:00AM; the 5K race starts at 7:10AM and the 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 8:15AM. Day of Race registrant fees will be $35.00 for the 10K, $30.00 for the 5K, and $20.00 for the 1-Mile Fun Run. Can't run or walk the Chick-Fil-A Race Series?
