Games, Rides and Dynamo Dogs Take Over Sheriff's Arena Aug 22-26The Limestone County Sheriff's Arena host a variety of event all year long. Nestled along Alabama Highway 99 just north of the Elm Street-New Cut Road intersection in Athens, the lush green grass and rodeo grounds will soon fill with sounds, brightly light rides, and laughter. The Limestone County Summer Fair returns... ...August 22nd to 26th with promoter Keith Hamby of Event EZ continuing his dreams of returning the nostalgia and charm of the county fair to the Limestone community.
Hamby recently issued a request to the local community for vendors and organizations to participate with booths in the Vendor's Market in efforts to expand this portion of the fair. (Vendor Info Here) Another new addition this year to the fair is Dynamo Dogs. This family-friendly, canine variety show will have families ooh and ahh at the tricks - and skill - before them. Trainer Gail Mirabella hopes to share with audiences the rewards of positive training and special bonds with her co-stars that have led to performances at events like Alpo Canine Disc World Championship, Purina Incredible Dog Challenge Nations and other national dog events . Learn more about the Dynamo Dogs. The petting zoo will be open as well and the midway will be stocked with games and food vendors serving up tasty treats. Of course, the rides are what people come to enjoy to be spun, dropped, inverted and wowed -- and industry leader, Kissel Entertainment, is bringing the wow with 70 plus years of experience. Kissel Entertainment is a family-owned and -operated amusement group that takes safety to heart. Russ and Tammy Kissel, as well as their daughters, are a proud and caring four generations of operators who want to change the industry - making it safer for everyone. Russ Kissel's knowledge and industry expertise even lead him to be the guiding force and architect of the standards of operation and maintenance that the State of Kentucky has adopted. Kissel Entertainment is a year-round venture - with long-term employees, safety precautions, background checks and drug testing standard in their operation. Gates open nightly at 6:00PM to 10:00PM starting Tuesday the 22nd through Saturday the 26th . The gate admission is $5.00 and armbands for the rides will be $15.00 everyday. Parking will be free. Local merchants will have coupons for free admission good for Tuesday through Thursday. Individual tickets will be available for purchase on the midway as well.
