Fall Festivals, Halloween Happenings and Terror-filled Trips Through DoomDarkness creeps early in the skies over Limestone County but that isn't keeping the fun away this Halloween season. From terror attractions to family-friendly Fall festivals, we've rounded up a few events to keep you busy. The little goblins, princesses, heroes and other creatures of the night will take to the streets and neighborhoods on Tuesday, October 31st - so please, drive with caution and watch for these spirited souls. Halloween isn't the only chance to have fun in Limestone County, there's plenty of more chances to don a costume or just enjoy fall. We've put together a list of a few of them around... Oct 27th & 28th -- 11th Annual Athens Storytelling Festival in downtown Athens, AL will make you laugh, cry, and sigh as the storytellers fill the tent with entertainment. Oct 27th & 28th -- Doomsday at Dog Days (Dog Day Flea Market Grounds 30444 Gowan Road in Ardmore, TN) with tickets sales 7:00PM-11:00PM and attraction open 7:30PM. Try not to get lost in the haunted woods and maze or stop an alien invasion with arcade-style, glow-in-the dark paintball shootout. Haunted Woods & Maze: $18.00 per person; Alien Invasion Paintball: $13.00 per person or enjoy both for $25.00. Fast pass available for an additional $10.00 each. WEBSITE Oct 27th - 31st -- The Haunted Lester Hospital (30338 Lester Road in Lester) with tours from 7:00PM-11:00PM. Strange things happen in the old Lester Hospital -- blood curdling screams, sightings of the undead, and other unworldly apparitions -- and they're saving a bed for you. Admission: $10.00. WEBSITE Oct 28th -- Halloween Dance at the West Side Village Community Center (21639 AL-99 in Owens Community) from 6:30-10:00PM. Open to all ages; no smoking, no drugs, no alcohol. Music by Barnett Band & Co. Please bring a finger food to share at break. Information: PHONE Oct 28th -- Halloween Bash with Phoenix Paintball Division (24970 U.S. Highway 72 in Athens) from 9:00AM-5:00PM. All players present will be placed into 2 teams -- Team Ghoul and Team Goblin for big scenario games throughout the day. All Day Entry: $20.00 includes gun and mask or bring your own for $15.00. 500 Paintball Rounds for $10.00 -- must use field paint. PHONE Oct 28th -- Harvest Fest with Friendship North (21960 Easter Ferry Road in Elkmont) from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Enjoy this family-friendly event with inflatable games, music, crafts, S'mores, hayrides. Free FB Event Page Oct 28th -- Fall Festival with Tanner United Methodist Church (19607 Huntsville-Brownsferry Road in Tanner) from 12:00PM-2:00PM with hot dog lunch, games, bounce house, trunks of candy and more. Costumes encouraged but not required. WEBSITE Oct 28th & 31st -- The Hills are Alive will have you screaming with fun from 7:00PM-10:00PM as you get lost in the deep dark woods maze (10025 Sandlin Cemetery Road in Athens) and try to find your way out before the wolves, ghost, goblins or clowns get you. $15.00 per person, under 18 must have parental consent. Tennis Shoes/Walking Shoes FB Page Oct 28th -- Richard Martin Rails to Trails Color Ride or Walk in downtown Elkmont. Come enjoy the colorful leaves and the crisp fall air on the trail. Enjoy the merchant and dining opportunities downtown. Walking, cycling and horseback riding welcome. Oct 28th -- Fall Festival with the Elkmont Volunteer Fire Department (19667 Sandlin Road in Elkmont) from 4:00PM-8:00PM. Enjoy a bowl of Chili, Drink and Dessert for $5.00. Cakewalk, Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Ring Toss, Games, Prizes and Best Costume Contest for Boys and Girls. Oct 28th-29th -- Halloween Festival Weekend with the Limestone County Flea Market (30030 U.S. Highway 72 in Madison) from 12:00PM-5:00PM with trick or treating with the vendors, pumpkin carving contest, coloring and games for the kids, food trucks and more. Oct 29th -- HarvestFest 2017 with Friendship Church (16479 Lucas Ferry Road in Athens) from 4:00PM-6:30PM. Enjoy this family-friendly festival with games, inflatables, food vendors, live music, S'mores, Hayrides. Information and Reservations: 256-423-3992 Oct 31st -- Annual Fall Festival with Mable Hill Baptist Church (3778 Ready Section Road in Ardmore, AL) from 6:00PM-7:30PM featuring games, prizes, food, and Trunk or Treat. Free admission, everyone welcome. Oct 31st -- Hospice of Limestone County Trunk or Treat (405 South Marion Street in Athens) from 3:30-5:30PM. Oct 31st -- Halloween Drive-thru Trunk or Treat with Welleswood Venue (1005 Elkton Street in Athens) from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Load the kids and drive thru for treats! Oct 31st --- Hallelujah Festival with Piney Grove Baptist Church at the Ardmore Town Park (Ardmore Avenue in Ardmore, AL) from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Enjoy 20 festival games including Dart Vader, Pig Pong Bounce, Baseball Toss, a train, and free concessions in this alternative to trick or treating. Children may wear non-scary costumes and bring bags or baskets to take home goodies.
