Calhoun Community College will host the 2018 Career & Workforce expo on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Aerospace Training Center and the Health Sciences building on Calhoun’s Decatur campus.

Last year, over 1,000 students, parents, and educators from communities and school systems across Calhoun's service area attended.  The Expo is...

... targeted to high school and college students and brings together local businesses, industries and employers who provide the jobs in our area and the young people who will soon fill those jobs.

“The Career and Workforce Expo is an opportunity for hundreds of area high school students to visit the Calhoun Decatur campus and connect with business and industry leaders in our area.  Students also learn about programs available at Calhoun that can provide the skills these employers are seeking,” commented Gwen Baker, director of Calhoun’s Dual Enrollment and Tech Prep programs. “This year, as in the past, the focus is on bridging the skills gap identified by area businesses and industries among today’s workforce.”

The Career & Workforce Expo is an annual program sponsored by the Calhoun Community College Tech Prep Consortium in conjunction with the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce and the Morgan County Economic Development Association.  Further support is provided each year by area businesses and industries. Gold sponsor for the event is Joe Wheeler EMC.  Additional sponsors are 3M, Asahi Kasei Plastics, Coilplus, Inc., GE Appliances, NUCOR, Pepsi, Redstone Federal Credit Union, Snap-on, Steelcase, T&C Stamping, Inc. and Toray.

The Calhoun Tech Prep Consortium includes Calhoun Community College, Athens City Schools, Decatur City Schools, Hartselle City Schools, Limestone County Schools, Madison City Schools, and Morgan County Schools.
