Meet our Twin City -- Stonehaven, Scotland

Our "Twinning City" or "Sister City" Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, Scotland lies on the northeast coast of Scotland with roots dating back to the Neolithic era.   The rich tales of the land include the hiding of the Scottish Crown Jewels at Dunnottar Castle and its role in many pivotal points in Scotland's history.

It was through the efforts of Clan Baird members, City of Athens' representatives and Stonehaven and Northeast Scotland Twinning Group representatives that a partnership was forged and the two communities struck their "Twinning City" initiative to foster friendship and understanding communities throughout the world in 2018.

Both communities encourage individuals and groups to create, strengthen, and to build collaborations to further understanding of the civic, cultural, recreational, educational, and commercial opportunities of each town.
