Brittany Howard's "Stay High" Video Trek

Brittany Howard, the sultry voiced lead singer of Athens' own Alabama Shakes, launched a meteoric solo career in 2019 featuring the album "Jaime".  Howard, according to press releases, recorded Jaime after a cross country drive that took her from Nashville, TN to Topanga, CA – a rustic Los Angeles county town wedged between the mountains and the beach. Howard entitled the album after her sister, who taught her to play the piano and write poetry, and who died of cancer when they were still teenagers.

From among the tracks, the inspirational "Stay High" rose to popularity especially after Howard incorporated many iconic venues from around Athens, AL to serve as the backdrop to the empowering ballad.

Below is a trek to help Brittany Howard fans explore the sites featured in "Stay High" video.

Tip:

Kreme Delite offers good ole' fashioned soft-serve creations -- a popular one is the Upside-Down Banana Split.

Tip:

Dub's Burger is a popular lunch destination -- they often sell out of their burgers because they order a certain amount of fresh meat per day, so get there early to guarantee your chances of biting into one of these.
