CALHOUN’S STUDENT AMBASSADORS TO DELIVER OVER 200 BLANKETS TO THE NORTH ALABAMA COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS

Picture
For the past three years, Calhoun’s Warhawk Student Ambassadors conduct an Annual Winter Drive on the Huntsville and Decatur campus to collect new and gently used blankets, jackets, scarves and gloves to deliver to those less fortunate. The students deliver all of the donated items to...

... the North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (NACH). From there, the NACH distributes thousands of blankets and winter items to the homeless as part of their Annual Blanket and Cold Weather Gear Drive.

This year, the Warhawks received a tremendous outpour of support from our local communities in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties. “When the temperatures begin to drop in North Alabama, most of us are blessed to have a blanket to grab or a jacket to help block the harsh frigid temperatures. Unfortunately, there are so many that do not. We are so thankful for all of the donations we have received and learn each year that the gift of warmth is priceless.”, commented Sherika Attipoe, Warhawk Sponsor.

Calhoun’s Warhawk Student Ambassadors will deliver all donated winter items to the NACH office, 1580 Sparkman Drive, Suite 111, Huntsville on Wednesday, November 1 at 1:30 p.m.

About the Calhoun Warhawk Student Ambassadors

Warhawks are the official hosts and hostesses that represent Calhoun at special events and receptions on campus. We work hard and have fun doing it. We take pride in our school and our community and serve both by assisting with such activities as campus tours, high school college programs, local organizations, and other club and groups on campus with enthusiasm - all while keeping our grades up. It's a great way to meet other students, faculty and administrators, and become involved in student activities and your community.

About the NACH
