National Hunting and Fishing Day invites expert and novice to continue the tradition set out 100 years ago by hunters, anglers, scientist and conservationist to not only preserve the rich wilderness and wildlife of the Nation but to introduce family and friends to the joy of the outdoors. 

​The basic ideas of National Hunting and Fishing Day continued under the guidance of President Theodore Roosevelt and came to full fruition with Senatorial Resolution in June 1971, Congressional Resolution in early 1972, and finally Presidential Proclamation under Richard Nixon in May 1972.  Declared to occur annually on 4th Saturday each year...
