Last Chance for April Historic Walking Tours - April 28th

stories of bygone days with local guides for the final walks of 2018 that are offered as part of the statewide Saturday Historic Walks initiative.

What you need to know to go....

Mooresville's April Historic Walks are marking their 200-Year Anniversary of the town with Behind the Picket Fence lecture series.   This limited-seating, free event offers a peek into the history of Mooresville with a special guest lecturer before setting out in the quaint community for a stroll and storytelling. Mooresville's event requires reservations be made in advance and they available at Eventbrite.com.   Meeting place and time will be provided with your reservation.

Athens' April Historic Walks are marking the 200-Year Anniversary of the town as well with local guides leading the way sharing tales of history, heritage, architecture and more on these free tours.   Check-in is at 9:45AM at the Athens-Limestone Visitors Center on North Beaty Street with walk host Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association.    Attendees will choose from the available tours, meet the guides and set off for a leisurely stroll of 1-2 hours approximately.

Elkmont's April Historic Walks are brand new this year with the Elkmont Historical Society leading the way through history, heritage, and sights of  downtown Elkmont during this free tour.   Check-in is at 10:00AM at the Elkmont Depot on Railroad Street next to the Richard Martin Rails-to-Trails.

If you missed this opportunity to attend the April Historic Walks, the program returns annually with support of the Alabama Department of Tourism.
