Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride

Always the 3rd Saturday of September, the Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride commemorates the forced march of Native Americans to reservations west of the Mississippi River.   The ride passes through Limestone County - along Interstate 565 to the Greenbrier Exit (Exit 3) where the ride stops for a break before resuming and traveling Mooresville Road to U.S. Highway 72 and continuing west to Florence then Waterloo and portions on to Oklahoma.

Motorcyclist from all over the nation gather for the ride along the route that begins in North Carolina, with portions organized to start in Chattanooga, Tennessee; South Pittsburg, Tennessee and Bridgeport, Alabama.

Residents and visitors alike, line the route to welcome the riders and join in commemoration of this solemn remembrance of the tragic events of American history.
