Registration for Alabama’s first sandhill crane hunting season in more than 100 years will open on September 4 and run until September 25, 2019. The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) will conduct a computer-controlled random draw of 400 sandhill crane hunting permits on October 2, 2019. ATHENS, Alabama – The U.S. Census Bureau has started conducting neighborhood address canvassing in Limestone County for the 2020 Census. This address canvassing will be taking place through October 18, 2019. This is the first major field operation of the 2020 Census. Address canvassing improves and refines the Census Bureau’s address list of households nationwide, which is necessary to deliver invitations to respond to the census. ATHENS, Ala. – Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson announced today [Aug. 27] the non-profit organization, which promotes historic downtown Athens, received five awards of excellence at the sixth annual awards banquet [on Aug. 22] during the aLABama Downtown Laboratory conference hosted by Main Street Alabama.
