51st Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention Tunes Up for Week's End

Picture
Athens State University's majestic Founders' Hall become the backdrop for the annual Tennessee Valley Fiddlers Convention this October 6th and 7th.  An array of license plates from all over America dot the parking lots for this "Granddaddy of them All" titling championship that helps fund scholarships for Athens State's students.

The music is a big draw featuring Banjo, Dobro, Mountain Band, and many more.  However, it's the competition to be crowned the Junior and Adult Fiddler Champions that people really enjoy seeing.   Music isn't the only...
... draw for this event.   Over 50 food vendors and 150 arts and crafts vendors dot the campus as well for attendees to peruse.

The Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddler's Convention Museum and Delmore Brother Museum located on the bottom floor of McCandless Hall will also be open for viewing on Friday and Saturday from 9:00AM-7:00PM (tentatively).
